Secondary School Beach League Term 4
Costs: $100.00 per team. Schools will be invoiced.
Location: Takaro Sports Club- corner of Featherston St & Botanical.
Program: 8 weeks of Tuesday trainings and Thursday league matches. (scheduled over 10 weeks to allow for rain cancellations)
Tuesday Trainings- 4-6pm. Volleyball Mānawatu coaching provided. Non-complusory, school to register if team will participate in trainings.

Soane will be there from 4pm for any extra training prior to games or if Girls teams wish to come (not compulsory).

Twilight Social 4v4s League
What:
Summer 4 a-side social beach volleyball. Come down and have some fun with your friends, family and work mates at the end of a busy week. Join the atmosphere of a social competition out in the sunlight. It is an awesome way to keep active and meet new people. All skill levels are welcome. Enjoy a bevvy or two from the bar (18+).
Dates:
8 Fridays (if weather permits)
- 8th, 15th, 22nd Dec
- 12th, 19th, 26th Jan
- 9th, 16th Feb
- 5:30pm, 6:15pm, 7:00pm, 7:45pm
- $140 per team

Grades:- Social A (Competent- must have x1 female on court at all times
- Social B (Beginner/Intermediate)
- Takaro- Lawn Bowls Club- Corner of Featherston St & Botanical Rd (behind the hedge)
Indoor rules with some exceptions:
- 4 versus 4- Competitive Grade MUST have x1 female on at all times.
- Allowed to set (off a serve & with spin)
- Block does not count as a touch
- Can hit from anywhere
- No open hand tips allowed- must spike or hit it with knuckles
- No double touches (apart from a block- you may block and play the ball again)
- No carried balls
- Shots may be blocked before they cross the net as long as the blocker does not reach over and touch the ball before the attacker (reach)
- Ball may be played off the net
- You may use any part of the body for a touch
- Rotate in to serve if more than 4 players (from behind back line)
- Both teams must self duty their matches in a fair and true spirit of the game
- Round Robin & If time semis/finals
- 45 min rounds- 3 sets to 21,21,21 (third set will only count if a team reaches 13 points. Must switch ends at the end of each set and in the third set switch ends when a combined total of 11 points is reached.
NOTE: IF GAMES ARE CANCELLED THEY ARE NOT MADE UP OR REFUNDABLE AS WEATHER AND OTHER BEACH BOOKINGS ARE OUTSIDE OF OUR CONTROL
Cancellations and weather updates will be made by 3pm on our social media (Insta & FB) if you do not hear anything then assume it is on.
Teams unable to play or with not enough players must try and get replacement players to fill in or a default will be given.
Youth & Social Tournaments
What: Three one day tournaments hosted by MRVA. You can pick from mixed 4s social grade or youth under 16 boys or under 18 girls pairs. Dependent on numbers we may combine the two grades to play 4v4. Come out for some fun in the sun. Bring your chilly bin with a picnic, listen to some tunes and enjoy some sand volleyball.

- Estimated $100 per social 4s teams and $50 per youth pairs teams 9tbc) teams will be emailed the payment details once registrations are in. NO PAY NO PLAY!

Competitive Adult League
What:
This league is aimed at the best of the best. We want to lift the level of beach volleyball in our region by following all beach FIVB rules as best as we can. Find yourself a partner to take you through the summer season.
Dates:
8 weeks over summer Thurs league night and Tues back up night (some weeks).

NOTE: IF GAMES ARE NEEDED TO BE CANCELLED DUE TO THE WEATHER THEN WE WILL PUSH GAMES TO THE FOLLOWING TUESDAY IF AVAILABLE OR TEAMS ARE TO ORGANISE THEIR OWN CATCH UP MATCH ANOTHER TIME. Teams must take responsibility to create a re-match within the week of scheduled game if they cannot play the designated time or it is an auto default.

Competitive Adult Tour Series

Game Times:
- Between 8am-6pm
- $70 PER TEAM PER EVENT. Teams will be emailed the payment details once registrations are in. NO PAY NO PLAY! Payments MUST be made prior to each event.
Grades:
- Open Mens
- Open Womens
- Takaro- Lawn Bowls Club- Corner of Featherston St & Botanical Rd (behind the hedge)
- Beach Volleyball FIVB Rules as strict and as best as we can play it.
- Round Robin format, rounds are scheduled for 45mins, games may play over time if the game is not finished. Best of 3 sets (21,21,15) ends at every 7 points for first two sets then ends at every 5 points for the third set. Win 2-0 then the game is over and the next game providing all teams are happy may start earlier if wanting too. If a game has gone past the 45min mark then it is roll on roll off and 5min warm up time starts when the game prior has finished.
NOTE: IF WE ARE REQUIRED TO POSTPONE THE EVENT THEN WE WILL LET YOU KNOW THE EVENING PRIOR TO THE COMPETITION. WE WILL THEN SEND OUT THE NEW DATE FOR THE EVENT TO TAKE PLACE.
